It's been quite a while since my last update but having a little one around sure has kept me busy but she's also created some inspiration in my life.
My little girl was born with a head FULL of hair and it's just been growing and growing since the day she was born. I absolutely love her subtle curls and have no intention of cutting them, however, I had to find a way to get her little locks out of her dear face so that she could see!
It started out with a mommy group craft session and next thing I knew, I had more bows than she had outfits to go with them! Eventually I started wearing them too and now I've got mommies from daycare asking about them.
Long story short, you will be seeing these bows up here on my website VERY soon. In the mean time, there's a sneak peek in my portfolio if you want to check a few of them out!
Well, it's official. For anyone who hasn't heard/seen the 2013 Oscar nominations yet, Mirror, Mirror as been nominated for Best Costume Design! Sadly, Eiko Ishioka, the costume designer, passed away last year before the movie came out. Her last Oscar nomination was for Bram Stoker's Dracula in 1992.

Hello all. Just a quick update to let you know that I am no longer living in New York City. Back in April, my husband and I found out that we are expecting our first baby! We are both VERY excited but due to all sorts of circumstances we decided it was best to move back South to Austin, Texas where we can be closer to our families with the new little Coffman on the way.
I have a couple freelance gigs on the side right now but other than that, my costume career is currently on hold until our little bundle of joy arrives and we can get a better feel for what our new schedule is going to be.
We are both VERY excited and cannot wait to meet our little girl!
I have recently been laid off from my job for the summer so I am now currently available for freelance work in the New York City area.
Please feel free to contact me here.
Thanks and enjoy your summer!
This is the shop that I work for. Sadly, I didn't get to work on this project but I'm so excited for Ben getting to see his design for Rosie come to life! I feel so humbled to be able to work with so many talented people.
Ben Clearie's Costume Design Comes to Life
Ben Clearie, an 11-year-old aspiring fashion designer who made his Rosie Show debut in January 2012, travels to Carelli Costumes in New York City to design an outfit for Rosie. Watch his design take shape.
The Snow White movie we worked on this summer finally got a title (Mirror, Mirror) AND it has released it's movie trailer! It will be out in March so I hope you can take the time to go see it!
If you look back at some of my older posts you will notice that the shop I work for, Carelli Costumes, worked on some of the costumes for the upcoming Snow White movie set to be out March 2012.. Well, I am here to tell you that some of the publicity photos have now been released and I could not wait to share them with you!
Please note that we did not make all of the costumes that are in the photos; just a few here and there. Enjoy!
Picked up a couple bridesmaid dresses that have to be done before the end of the month! The two bridesmaids are the cousins to a friend of mine and they just need their dresses hemmed significantly shorter than they came. I'm looking forward to posting before and after photos of this one.
About this time last year I was working for the Radio City Costume Shop. This year I'm not working for them but I am working on costumes for them! They are adding a new number to the Radio City Christmas Spectacular and Carelli Costumes is in on the job and in full swing. I'm really looking forward to seeing it all come together.
I'm currently doing some work on the side for Basil Twist on the puppets for The Addams Family. I have never seen the show nor have I ever worked on puppets before so this has all been a very interesting learning experience. I like picking up odd jobs on the side.
Coffee loving native Texan who packed up her life to work in the Big Apple doing what she loves... making costumes.
